African Insight is committed to responsible tourism and through its business model is making a difference through environmental, social and economic development projects.

One of the projects that African Insight has undertaken, with the assistance of its clients, is the building of a Pre School in the community outside of Somkhanda Game Reserve, where African Insight Academy operates.  Research has shown that the best way to break the poverty cycle is through education, but unfortunately, the South African education system is in a crisis and does not take into consideration that the first 3-4 years of a person’s life are crucially important in terms of brain development. Currently, there is no early childhood development (ECD) facility in the area. The school launched in May with 12 children enrolled and a qualified full-time ECD teacher and can accommodate 30 children.
